Design Modification of cricket bat and comparison of different type of cricket bat using sweet point analysis

Abstract

The sweet spot indicates the position from where the ball comes out with maximum velocity. By changing the position and area of the Sweet spot we can improve the bat performance. As the new rule came into effect from September 28,2017, the design of the bat was done without violating the rules. The aim of this study was to design a new modified bat and compare it with the existing bats. The comparison of the bats were done using commercially available software ANSYS. The experiments were also done on the exit velocity of the bat from different positions.
