Abstract:
Plasmonic devices are becoming more and more popular research interest
due to its capability to overcome few of the shortcomings of electronic
devices. One of the major advantage offered by the plasmonic devices is
its ability to overcome diffraction limit that arises due to miniaturization of
the devices. Out of many plasmonic devices, here plasmonic diodes have
been designed. The performance of the designed device was also analyzed
in terms of transmitted energy. Here, the performance variation with
different wavelength of the used signal was observed. The biasing
dependency of the ports on the frequency used led to the designing of a
frequency converter. The frequency converter was designed to convert the
frequency of the used signal and thus bias the diode as required. In both the
devices namely, Plasmonic diode and frequency converter, different
modification in the structure were also made to optimize the performance
of the devices.
