Abstract:
There’s no limit for the great potential that solar energy holds; we just need to find more creative solutions to harness it in a more efficient way. This study presents some of the basic calculations of a P-V system as well as the parameters for sizing a P-V system. Current status of the technologies used are previewed, also the innovative concepts which are still in Lab phase are discussed to show a glimpse of what could be in the near future.
At the time this study was written the highest efficiency recorded was 46% in Fraunhofer Germany using a four junction 3rd generation cell in concentrated light condition.
