dc.description.abstract This report summarizes a 3-months internship program designed for me to gain practical professional experience. The report provides details of my experience as an HR and Admin Intern at Sinobangla Industries Ltd. This internship helped me learn about the practical situation of a manual manufacturing-based packaging company. This experience provided me with the opportunity to practically observe the growth, possibility the FIBC industry has to run and evolve in Bangladesh. Apart from this, the opportunity also added to my experience of working within a corporate area which not only aided my professional experience but also helped me achieve personal growth. This has undoubtedly influenced my career plan to a great extent. It helped me realize where I have the scope to grow, learn and contribute. Sinobangla Industries Limited is the leading company providing packaging solutions throughout the globe. The company is run by a joint venture between China and Bangladesh. They commenced their operations on 13th November 1996. While the organization comprises several operational units and product lines, the main focus is on ensuring customer satisfaction with flexible and adaptive service. The report focuses on the overall practices taken up to operate the company and ensure smooth and seamless production and delivery of packaging products. The process requires support from a diverse range of departments. I have worked with each department to observe how the departments word and coordinate in order to support the production process more effectively. My main job was to determine the reasons behind the worker absenteeism and turnover rate in the company. From my observation at the company, I added some recommendations in the latter part of the report which the company may consider implementing. As a part of my diverse work assignments at the company, I have worked in the Human resources and admin department to review the operational processes that are in practice at the department. There are several best practices that the company implements which plays a great role in motivating the employees. Some of the best practices I observed at the company is the management of the employee welfare fund, selective hiring, self managed and effective teams, security of employees etc. The company has been effectively implementing the best practices and maintaining an amicable working environment successfully for a fairly long time. Other than the Human resources and Admin department, I have actively participated in the operations of sales and marketing department. My main assignment under the department was to report the assessment of the company performance in both the local and global market. From my findings the company has been consistently maintaining the position of market leader in the industry for several years in a row. On the other hand, in the global market, the share of Sinobangla Industries is comparatively lower than many of it’s competitors. The study revealed the areas of opportunities the company has to expand and grab a larger share of the market. Other than these, the report focuses on several other operational units in which I participated actively. There are several fields which require attention on part of the administrations which have been included in the recommendations chapter of the report. Th recommendations mainly focuses on the Human Resources Practices, the working environment, the facilities for the workers which can be brought into practice to increase their productivity and reduce the problem of absenteeism and employee turnover. The outcome of the internship is mentioned in detail in the following part of the report. By being familiar with the entire company, there are several recommendations that come to my mind that I believe will bring positive outcomes for the company. en_US
