Abstract:
Rubberized concrete (RUC) is a concrete mix which replaces fine or coarse aggregates with crumb rubber particles. RUC shows higher ductility, energy dissipation behavior, high resistance to freeze-thaw and acid attacks. RUC is a very effective approach to minimize the brittleness of concrete and increase its ductility. Although RUC shows lower strength than ordinary concrete mixes. A 1m*1m*150mm concrete panel was used as a basic model to evaluate the displacement over time to identify shock absorption capacity using the Abaqus FEM 2017 software. After that, the concrete thickness was lowered and RUC layers were added. For every trial the thickness of RUC-Concrete layers, impact forces were changed.
