Abstract:
This study addresses the gender disparities hindering active transport uptake in Dhaka, Bangladesh, particularly the challenges faced by women. Employing a multi-faceted approach, it uses quantitative methods (SEM and BBN) and qualitative techniques (surveys) to examine factors like demographics, socio-economic status, infrastructure, and societal norms across diverse suburbs. Key findings reveal the causal relationships between these factors and female active travel behavior. The study concludes with targeted interventions to enhance active transport among women, reducing car usage and its environmental and health impacts.
