dc.description.abstract | Bangladesh's economy is predominantly based on the ready-made garment (RMG) industry. Along with producing enormous quantities of revenue, it also produces a lot of effluent that is contaminated by both organic and inorganic pollutants. Effective and sustainable treatment methods are required to recycle this wastewater, lessen its environmental impact, and preserve water supplies. Many enterprises typically just dump their water into the rivers and lakes. However, some companies use chemical methods to purify the water, which might result in certain toxic byproducts and are more expensive than biological methods despite being more efficient. The goal of this thesis is to determine the most effective strategy to clean wastewater from textiles using purely biological techniques. Both the overall cost of water treatment and the amounts of harmful byproducts will be reduced as a result. We purchased the necessary equipment, collected wastewater from a textile facility, and carried out three experiments activated sludge process, algae-based water treatment, and a microbial fuel cell experiment. We got our experimental data from the environment lab. Based on the findings, we deduced that although the water treated using biological approaches can come near to meeting recycling standards, it is not entirely usable. Therefore, it cannot be used directly, even though we get some results. After the biological treatment, some chemical treatment will still be necessary. Nonetheless, there will be a considerable reduction in both quantity of chemical usage and expense. According to our findings, we also gave an implementation plan for the treatment methods for a factory. We are hoping that an implementation of biological treatment method will be of great benefit for our economy and environment. We also provided an implementation strategy for the factory's treatment techniques based on our results. We anticipate that the environment and our economy will greatly benefit from the application of biological treatment methods. | en_US |
