dc.description.abstract The simulation of various machining processes is a matter of interest in active research for over two decades. This study develops a combined simulation based and experimental approach to find the effect of rake Angle & relief Angle in chip formation during turning operation to get deeper insight into chip formation mechanism of three different types of materials-Aluminium(Al- 6061),Cast Iron(J431 G1800) and Stainless Steel(304L). In this paper, the morphology of chip formation during turning operation of Aluminium,Cast Iron and Stainless Steel are investigated based on simulation done by software “AdvantEdge”. In this research work optimum rake angle and relief angle of Aluminium(Al-6061),Cast Iron(J431 G1800) and Stainless Steel(304L) are being used for experimental investigation and different range of chip thickness in different zone are observed. en_US
